No matter what you’ve read on other fashion blogs or magazines there is no cookie-cutter approach to style. The fun thing about fashion (and the reason we’re so obsessed with clothes and shoes) is that literally anything goes — if it makes you look and feel good too.
The first step to finding the right clothes to bring out your inner goddess, rock star or CEO is to figure out your specific body type so that you can play up your best features.
Body shape is all about proportion, and fashion is all about dressing those proportions to look their very best. Below is a sketch of different body types, which one are you? This can help to understand the different cuts and pieces that can make you strut down the street with full confidence.
The most empowering styling factor to a woman is self awareness and how she can reflect and show her true self. In episode 10 of Coke Studio Africa, Liloca from Mozambique showed us all how a pear shaped woman ( e.g Kim Kardashian shape) should truly slay.
Wearing a popping red jumpsuit with a metallic belt brought all our attention to her tiny waist. It very subtly flowed down and opened up through the cuts from her upper thighs that truly showcased her curvy shape and brought out a sexy and confident talented artist.
Lydia Jasmine from Uganda also shown above and below has a more slender straight shape and her playsuit was absolutely perfect for her. The design on the waist brought out a curviness to her look and the gathers at the bottom of her playsuit gives her a more hip accentuated look while also highlighting her long legs. I believe the two artists truly came out to rock the show and also look and feel confident doing it!
Lydia Jasmine (shown below) from Uganda came out to slay! With a very slender shape, she wore a peplum top that gave her the movement and shape to bring out her inner diva while the belt aided to emhaisize her tiny waist. To add onto the perfection in this look, the white shorts accentuated her long slender legs and added to the sexiness of the look.
