If you watched episode 9 of Coke Studio Africa, I know you would have definitely noticed the fashion slaying duo “MAFIKIZOLO” take over the stage with Kenya’s very talented Nyashinski.
I was immediately obsessed with the polka dot themed outfits! The vintage but also modern looks won the show in my opinion! From the A-Line dress that emphasized her waistline to the African beaded accessories that the duo paired with their outfits all added up to create the perfect look.
Just to give a brief history of the A-line style, it is a relatively modern silhouette, arriving in the 1950s. It is fitted at the shoulders and hips and gradually widens towards the hem, giving the impression of the shape of a capital letter A. The term A-line was first used to refer to a fashion silhouette by Christian Dior, the hero of French couture design in the 1950s.
The duo is also known for always adding the right accessories to tie their outfits to our rich African heritage. They are definitely talented musicians that also slay as a fashion duo and always gets us up and dancing. Loved every moment watching them on Coke Studio Africa, make sure you guys don’t miss out on next weeks episode.
