Today I decided to take out the braids and get my hair done and its not that easy having african hair in Australia and finding a place that understands how to take care of it and doesn’t charge ridiculous amounts to get your hair done, so over the years through trial and error I have tested a couple of places and finally found the Darker Shades of Beauty salon . The family atmosphere reminds me of
home and the friendly African culture we have. They basically do everything familiar to me (from dreads to braids to weaves). I decided to go with the Ombre look after my braids got taken out just because I think it frames my face the best, I also have amazing treatment products thanks to the Darker Shades of Beauty Salon (I would highly recommend checking them out, their address is 408 North East Road, Windsor Gardens Adelaide, South Australia)and have never had an issue with breakage due to their all natural home care kits. If you’re planning on going lighter just remember to do it gradually and not all at once or your hair will literally fall off, and its all about moisture, (especially with African hair) I will post up my weekly hair routine soon, but its pretty simple, treatment, treatment, treatment! Just keeping my hair nourished.
